DA YOU is in Shanghai

DA YOU is here in Shanghai, this is her first trip to Shanghai. We just made a comparation on who have gained more weight in the last 3 years after graduation, and unfortunately, I win! DA YOU is very excited and she can not wait to explore Shanghai. Aeolus will be her tour guide in coming two days.
Experienced some tough moments on work today, how I wish this world could be a Eutopia where everybody enjoys equal rights.

Get Motivated, April 21

Get motivated by Wang Jianshuo, an alumni of Aeolus, the head of KIJIJI.COM, who started writing blog in both English and Chinese on Sep 11, 2002 and never stopped since then till now. I came up with an idea that why can't I record my life daily so that when we get old, I can tell my grand child that:" See how persevering your grandma is! Your grandpa is not as diligent as your grandma in every way and that's how he gained weight after 30s, haha!"

I had a long day working on financial EVAs with co-workers from Finance Department for 3 potential new stores, and this is the first time  I realized that  my math is actually not as bad as I thought it was. I kind of enjoy calculating now. Tough expansion plan under current economic environment though.

Went to Xujiahui after work to meet up with Linlin, my sweet roomie. I walked around Grand Gateway Mall when waiting for Linlin and not surprisingly, I found price of goods are way too higher than its real value. A T-shirt of a never-heard brand costs RMB400, a pair of normal sports shoe (not Adidas or Nike) costs RMB600, a cup of to-go milk-tea costs RMB8 (tastes good and I bought two cups though :P). etc. It is said Shanghai ranked 6th most expensive city to live in all over the world, which I truely agree on. Well, for those who have high-level income, Shanghai is heaven. However, I worry a lot about those many people earn RMB1,500 or below per month, what's their living status? For them, life must be tough, especially for those who are not native Shanghaiese so have to pay at least RMB500 per month to rent an apartment. I want to have a chat with the cleaner in my company, an "A YI" from Sichuan province to talk about this.

My dear Aeolus received his long-wait offer this morning, it was a pity that I missed his call when the big moment came, I was then on a conference call:( But I will make it up and will celebrate tomorrow at my favorite Hunan restaurant near my apartment with him and DA YOU, my best friend in college who is also from Hunan. DA YOU will be arriving in  Shanghai 7pm tomorrow and will stay at my place. Wondering where I should tour her, too many places worth visiting in Shanghai but too little time. Any advice?

Going to sleep, will update tomorrow:P
